Amidst the shakeup of the prison system under the recommendations set out by Dame Sally Coates, a number of prison establishments are looking to take a new innovative approach to teaching. One such prison is HMP Send in Surrey; a female estate that houses around 280 women prisoners serving sentences of anywhere between 6 months to life (though 81% off women in England serving a prison sentence have been convicted of non-violent crimes). They are looking for a Functional Skills team leader who can inject some passion and creativity back into learning and inspire others to follow.
